This two shots are from my third trip to states. It was the end of December 2005, just couple days after Christmass Day when fire began in one house across the street. I remember clearly how I was fascinated by the firetrucks. I had seen them in movies and TV series but this was my first encounter in real life. They were bright yellow and with paintbrush images of burning cars and smoking twin towers from 9/11.

Sometimes I have opportunity to visit some places without anyone there. Last december I had my camera with my when first snow hit Brno. It was nice storm and we get like 5 or 8 cm that day. Clouds were low, wind was blowing. So I get into a car and headed to Kraví Hora. Beacause I knew nobody was there and the snow will be virgin withou any foot trails. And I was right and lucky. I cought the last light rays of the day. It was quite late but lovely.

I never understand the idea of having a bag. But couple years ago I got one and now I’m taking so much stuff with me everywhere. =) It started with basic stuff like keys and wallet. Of course iPhone is on of the most important things there. After while I added iPod, headphones and charging cable for my apple toys just to be sure that I’m never be without any sort of music… Lot of pens, allergy pills and couple of flash drives. And two books. Out of Mind by Catherine Sampson and Moje Amerika – my last photobook. The last one I have in bag for showing purpuroses. To show everyone how nice photos I took in states in 2009 =). And since I bought sooo light macbook Air I never left my laptop at home.

In last months I added some swimming gear in case of getting at pool.

Sun is shinning. And the weather is lovely. Spent some time outside. Bunch of kids and wonderful ladies. And all of this woke deep inside me passion fot black and white photography. Again. I had thought that I lost it but now it’s here and I love it.

Couple shots from cold but nice sunday. I was at my aunt’s and I couldn’t resist the countriside. Haná is flatland, full of fields and now, this winter when snow is everywhere it looks wonderful. I went out for short walk and after two hours in the fields battery in my camera died. But it was sign that I should go back. I couldn’t feel my hands and my beard was frozen. =) But I liked it and the best of all I got couple nice winter shots.

Photoblog #8: The Railroad

Each time in upstate New York I had become a little bit different person. I don’t know why but there (upstate) I wanna do something different than here in Czech rep. Like this summer. I become a bikerider. But not THE bikerider with big nice ride. I started to ride on bycicle. =)

It was really nice to take bike, my camera and iPhone loaded with couple hours of nice music. Usually I didn’t plan any route, I just sat on bike and rode somewhere. In the beggining of the august during one of my bikerides I found dead-end route. It was one the side of river where the railroad is. And when I took this dead-end route I found train tracks. The scene looked so nice, light was perfect and I was thankfull that I brougt my camera with me. =) Only people living on the street was suprised when some guy on bike stop there, took camera from his backpack and started to shoot train tracks and signs around railroad…

Photoblog #7: Carneval

During summer we had big carneval in Brno. It was one of the really big “artistic” actions held by local theaters. In this particular one 7 different groups of actors, singers and many other people made masks and went crazy =). They went thru the whole city centre but not all together. Each group took different way so more people could see their nice but moustly weird masks. Each group had different theme and my favorite theme was something what I call “between joy and death”. The best example of this theme is below. Small girl in her early teens with B&W maskara, dress in B&W too and angel wings. But with Teddy Bear in hear arms and lovely smile in her eyes.
